Sixty one year-old woman, nearly three years after her right breast cancer was treated with a lumpectomy and radiation. The lateral side of her breast was deficient and her nipple was pointing sideways. She had a deep gouging defect in her armpit from the lymph node removal and the radiation treatment. She also experienced chronic pain from the associated nerve damage.

One year, after her two BRAVA + AFT treatment sessions her breasts are fuller and of natural appearance. Along with the BRAVA + AFT, she benefited from our specialized techniques that are done simultaneously. For example, the rigottomy technique was used to loosen her scars, while the PALF maneuvers was used to move the nipple to its natural position in the center. As a side benefit, the liposuction improved her body contour. Also, the defect in the axilla was filled, her breasts were softened and her chronic pain was alleviated.

Forty one year old woman with breast cancer was treated with a lumpectomy followed by radiation. The tissue deficiency in the upper part of the breast displaced the nipple upward. The only treatment alternative offered by her plastic surgeons was to transfer a flap.

The patient refused to have a flap reconstruction. Instead, she came to Miami Breast Center where her natural breast was regenerated with advanced fat grafting techniques. She had two BRAVA + AFT treatment sessions, each 3 months apart. Extensive rigottomy of the radiated scar was necessary to make room for the fat grafts, and the PALF procedure generated the upper breast tissue needed to bring the nipple down. Ideally, an additional procedure will fully correct the deformity.

The breast is expanded using the BRAVA expander, this also helps loosen the scalloped defect. Fat grafts are used along with the method of Rigottomy release to soften the radiation scarring and restore near-normal contour and symmetry.
